Terms of service
Last updated 25 October 2026
These terms apply to the Tinglang website (tinglang.app), Tinglang accounts and the Pro subscription. The Tinglang app for Mac is covered by its software licence, described below.
Who we are
Tinglang is run by 安之, a private individual in Zurich, Switzerland (“we”). Contact: hello@tinglang.app; account and billing help: support@tinglang.app.
Using the website
Please don't disrupt the website, try to get around its security or use it for anything unlawful. We may change or remove parts of it at any time.
Your account
An account is optional: everything in the app works without one. You need one to subscribe to Pro and to use cloud features when they launch. Keep access to your email address and your Google or GitHub account secure, because they are how you sign in. We may suspend an account that is used to abuse the service. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Tinglang Pro
Pro includes everything in Free, priority support, and these monthly allowances from the official cloud service: 20 hours of cloud transcription and AI course credits.
The official cloud service hasn't launched yet. You can subscribe now; the allowances become usable when it launches, which we'll announce on this website. The size of the AI course allowance will be published then. Unused allowances don't carry over to the next month.
Prices and payment
Pro costs US$6.99 a month or US$59 a year. The amount shown at checkout is what you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and the price is charged to your payment method, until you cancel. If a payment fails, Stripe tries again for a while and Pro stays on meanwhile; if it still fails, Pro ends.
We may change prices. We'll tell you by email at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, and it applies from your next renewal; you can cancel before then.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from your account page (Manage subscription). Pro stays on until the end of the period you've paid for and then doesn't renew. We don't refund the current period, except where the law requires it.
If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the United Kingdom, you may withdraw from a new subscription within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason, by writing to support@tinglang.app. We'll refund what you paid.
The Tinglang app
The app is free software under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only. Your rights to use, copy, modify and share it come from that licence, and these terms don't limit them. As the licence says, the app comes without warranty.
Your content and other people's rights
What you capture and create with the app stays on your Mac and is yours, as far as it was yours to begin with. Only record and keep material you are allowed to: rights in videos, podcasts, meetings and courses are separate from the software licence, and being viewable in public does not make something free to redistribute.
Services run by others
AI providers you add, YouTube and the macOS services the app uses are run by others under their own terms. You are responsible for your accounts with them, your API keys and any costs they charge.
The Tinglang name and mark
The Tinglang name and mark belong to us. The software licence doesn't give permission to use them in a way that suggests a product or service comes from us or is endorsed by us.
Liability
We take care to keep the website and the service working and their information accurate, including the comparison with other products, which reflects what those products' own websites said on the date given, but we can't guarantee that they are always available, complete or current.
To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event. This does not limit liability for intent or gross negligence, or any liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change affects a paid subscription, we'll tell you by email before it takes effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Swiss law, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Zurich, Switzerland, have jurisdiction, except where mandatory law lets you, as a consumer, bring proceedings in your country of residence.
